Colne Valley Museum
Visit the restored weaver's cottages of 1845. Hand-loom weaving on flying shuttle 'Witch' loom and treadle looms. Working Spinning Jenny. Hand-carding. Spinning on Saxony Wheel. Clog making by gaslight. Weaver's living room circa 1850.

Meadowhall

Markets
There are several markets hosted in the surrounding area. Every Thursday is Penistone Market and other markets include Barnsley, Dewsbury, Huddersfield and Holmfirth.

Leisure:

Trans Pennine Trail
A multi user route across Northern England linking the Irish Sea with the North Sea from Liverpool to Hull. It will be fully completed for the Millennium, and the trail is suitable for walkers and cyclists. Some sections are also available for disabled users and horseriders.

East Riddlesden Hall
